FSSAI & Food Safety
Our commitment to food safety is as deep as our commitment to authentic taste. Every product leaves our kitchen fully compliant with FSSAI regulations, made with transparent ingredients, and delivered with your safety as our highest priority.
Taste of Tradition is a FSSAI-licenced Food Business Operator (FBO) producing authentic homemade pickles and preserves from Rupnagar, Punjab. Food safety is not a checkbox for us — it is the foundation of everything we make and sell. Every jar we dispatch has passed our internal quality checks and meets all applicable FSSAI regulations.
• Legal compliance always: We strictly follow the Food Safety & Standards Act, 2006 and all applicable FSSAI regulations.
• No compromises on hygiene: GMP and GHP standards are followed at every step — from sourcing to packing to shipping.
• Consumer safety is non-negotiable: Any food safety concern raised by a customer is treated as our highest priority.
• Proactive disclosure: We disclose known allergens, additives, and storage requirements clearly on every product.

| Dietary Category | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Vegetarian | ✅ All products vegetarian | No meat, poultry, fish, or gelatin in any product |
| Vegan | ✅ Most products vegan | Check specific product for honey-based variants |
| Gluten-Free | ⚠ Not certified GF | Shared facility; not suitable for celiac patients without checking label |
| Jain Diet | ⚠ Check specific product | Some products contain garlic and onion — not Jain-suitable |
| High Sodium / BP | ⚠ Consult doctor | Pickles are typically high-sodium; consult your physician if advised to limit salt |
Homemade pickles and preserves have a specific shelf life that depends on ingredients, oil content, salt concentration, and storage conditions. Always check the “Best Before” date on the product label before consuming.
| Storage Condition | Requirement | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Before Opening | Cool, dry place away from direct sunlight | Prevents premature fermentation or spoilage; maintains colour and texture |
| After Opening | Refrigerate at 2°C–8°C | Slows microbial growth; extends freshness post-opening |
| Utensil Rule | Always use a dry, clean spoon | Introducing moisture accelerates spoilage and mould growth |
| Lid Rule | Ensure airtight seal after each use | Prevents oxidation, contamination, and odour absorption |
| No Mixing | Do not mix new with old opened pickle | Cross-contamination can introduce bacteria |
| No Direct Hand Contact | Do not use fingers to take out pickle | Skin bacteria can contaminate the jar |
Every product undergoes a multi-stage quality check before it is labelled, sealed, and dispatched. We do not compromise on this process under any circumstance.
